where should I look to buy a good used laptop computer?
I’m also wondering what a Notebook is? Is it another name for laptop or is it different. What should I look for if I plan to use it for basic personal and business needs. I won’t be using it to watch movies or listen to music although I’m thinking those might be options. Can you tell me what basics I should look for and where to look? What can I expect to pay and how can I know the condition of a used one?
There may be a local used computer store near you, google for ‘used computer store’ and the name of your town and state.
For online, I like Bob Johnson’s because he offers a lifetime guarantee on what he sells:

Notebooks are thin laptops, the best place to find a used laptop is http://www.pricewatch.com, I get all of my electronics there. Used electronics are always a gamble though. If you need it for basic needs, just make sure you get 512 RAM at least and a minimum of a 1.7ghz processor. That should get you through most anything.
Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
