What is the best laptop computer that is under $900?
I want a laptop that is affordable but yet good quality i will be running programs like rossetta stone on it and iTunes and Yahoo messenger the normal stuff. I want it to last for a while. And easy to use for travel adn at home.

"best" is a dangerous word.
If you can push your budget a little higher the 13.3" Macbook is a great piece of equipment. It will run Mac OSX or you can load Windows XP onto it also. With the new Intel Core 2 Duo chip and plenty of ram this will handle your music, DVD’s and translations without a hitch.
Check around for either a refurbished system directly from Apple or purchase the system under the educational discount part of the apple store.
