What is the best computer/desktop brand?
I’m going into high school and i need a new computer.
What is the better brand: Dell or HP?
Which one has better performance and reliability?
And is Intel better or AMD?

apple, but they are very expensive
well… Apple is all "eye candy" but still good quality. Dell and HP are pretty much the same. And Intel is better than AMD ATM. If you want a reliable and good performance computer I advise to build your own. But if you don’t know how… then buy a HP or Dell. (I personally would pick HP)
HP. I have HP! Pavilion is the best. not Compaq.
HP is definitely the best. Dell is slooow.
AMD is better.
It really depends on your budget and what you are planning on doing. of your two choices I prefer a Dell with an Intel. Add some detail and I will edit my answer to be more specific.
Dell and intel
I have good exprences with apple and windows!!
HP sucks whoever said HP sucks they should be hurt . Dell is way faster than HP only reason you might think its slow because you may have got the wrong one .
go with Compaq (Compaq is owned by hp) and intel
They’re both about the same, but Dell tends to be cheaper than HP. You’re going to get decent computers with bad customer service, either way. Both perform about the same, generally, but that all depends on what you get.
Intel is usually much better in terms of heat and performance, but you can’t beat AMD for performance/price ratio. They really give you most amount of power for the amount you spend.
dell intel
dell has better customer support and is cheaper
intel faster more powerful
amd is for budget and basic power
Unless your buying the Intel Core2Duo the AMD CPUs are a better deal. Faster and cheaper. I suggest you find a good computer store in your Area and have them custom build you what you want. To find out the best hardware read the reviews on Tom’s hardware, Hard[OCP], Anandtech. You can see the item prices on sites like New Egg & Mwave. This way you can choose the brands you like and the models you want for the performance of the software you want to run. The problem with Dell & HP your stuck with the hardware they want to use which is usually based on price and you can’t upgrade easily. Plus their parts are special so you have to buy upgrades from them at much higher prices. Usually the tech support can be a pain. This way if there is an issue take it back to the store and have them fix it under their warranty. Also ask for a 48 hr burn-in before you pick it up. I’ve built all 6 computers running at my house and I put them up against any Dell. Apple makes a good machines but the software available is not as good. Its getting better but still your paying a more. Also I suggest buying a retail version of the O/S so you can move it from computer to computer over the years as you upgrade. The OEM software that comes with Dell & Hp can only be used on that machine and can’t be moved.
