What do you need to start a computer retailer store?

My father and I want to start a business that sells computers, laptops, and other accessories for computers.
What do I need to start it?
How do I buy the products from the company?
And what other things should I have in mind?

Please list any information that is useful whether it’s legal information, retailer license information, etc.

Thank you for helping. And feel free to email me any time, it should be on my profile.

If you are in the US, in most major cities, there is a national nonprofit called SCORE.

This is a nonprofit of senior Executives who volunteer their time, effort and expertise to help people like you looking to start a business. Some are retired, others serve just to give back to the community.

They are sponsored by the US SBA.

They will advise you on the various types of incorporation – Sole Proprietorship, LLC, S corp, C corp, etc.

They will teach you about the legal aspects – fictitious business ID, Articles of Incorporation, BOD, Business license, insurance, special bonding requirements, etc

They will teach you about marketing and promotion, pricing, gross margins, supply chain management, cash flow and basic accounting.

Look up the national website at http://www.score.org. You can apply for an interview on line. everything is free and without obligation. Some training courses do carry a small nominal charge, which is deductible as a business expense.

I am a business consultant in SCORE, and I specialize in Marketing and advertising.
