Used… Not such a good idea with laptops. Honestly you are better off finding a lower end new model than buying a laptop used. They are expensive to repair and pre-existing issues can take a while to manifest for a new owner. I would highly suggest looking at lower end dells or maybe a macbook. The only and I mean only used computer I would buy would be a macintosh ibook or powerbook and this is why. Apple computers are manufactured only by apple and are very standardized. They are supported long after they stop making them and the parts are still available. If you are buying a windows platform, buy new.

I would keep my eyes open for a Dell sale Another option is TigerDirect, buying used is hardly worth it. Much like buying a used fridge or microwave.

DEFINATLY get an HP computer. they win so may more awards for good service and compatibility and just all around good product than anyone else Including Dell. Because dell spends to much money in advertisement and not enough time on good computers. In a system youll want Windows Xp Pro with the microsoft office setup as it will come with power point and an upgraded harddrive and ram (memory) setup i would recomend at least a gig of ram and a larger hard drive to store all your presentations
