computer speakers not working?

I have a desktop computer and i have windows vista business that i just downloaded.I have 4 speakers that are hooked up to my computer the speakers that came with the computer are working fine but now that i put in windows vista business the other 2 speakers are not working and all the speakers have been working before.can someone tell me where to go set up the speakers so it recognizes 4 speakers.i cant find out where to go on windows vista nbusiness

While playing the sims 2 open for business my computer monitor keeps switching off?

When I am playing sims 2 open for business every 10 minutes or so my monitor turns black and says it is not receiving a signal like it does when my computer is off. I can still hear the sound of the game through the speakers and I can pause the game using keyboard shortcuts.

I can press the windows button on the keyboard to go back to my desktop which switches the monitor back on again.I can then open the sims again by the tab at the bottom and sometimes it will work but other times it will still be black. If it does work, the same thing happens about 10 minutes later.

My computer meets all of the requirements to play the game and before I installed open for business the normal sims 2 game worked perfectly.

If you could help me figure out why this is happening and how to fix it I would be very grateful. Thanks.

I am looking into purchasing a new desktop computer. I already have the monitor, mouse, keyboard & speakers. So i only need the tower. My limit is probably about 0. I need something with lots of memory, and pretty fast. This will be used mainly for business which involves a lot of pictures & movies & music. Nothing refurbished or used. Brand new. I would like to go into a store and purchase it, not just online. I like to see what I buy before I pay for it. Anyway…any suggestions?

What are the best speakers to get for a laptop? Are they hard to hook up? Or do they simply hook into the headphones port of your laptop?
