Starting a small computer business in NY state. sales tax confusion?

HI. There, bear with me this might be confusing.

I’ve been running a "business"on the side since i’ve been out of high school, that being that I build custom desktop computers for people. I usually buy parts out of my own pocket from Newegg.com (lets say 0) then build it, deliver it, and install in the person’s home charging 0 more for the whole thing. Ergo, the customer pays me a total lump some of 0 for their new computer when the job is complete; the money I spent on Newegg gets replenished and 0 goes to me.

But soon I’m going to the department of corporations to incorporate myself and also start accepting credit card payments since I’ve been dealing in cash and checks. So I need to think about sales tax now- heres where it gets confusing.

Newegg.com does not charge sales tax, I dont know why. My question is, If parts from newegg cost 0 and my labor costs 0, then the 0 that the customer pays without knowing exactly how much the parts or labor balance out in that figure needs to have another 8.5% added to go to the state? Or are just the parts taxed, or just the labor since I already bought the parts and am kind of just charging to assemble it?

The other question is; a wholesaler of already built laptops and tablets and stuff (sourcecode.com) I deal with besides newegg does in fact charge sales tax on those computers that I then mark up and resell. What gets taxed? Just my markup, or the entire thing even though that would be taxing it twice? As you can see I’m just out of highschool and I’m trying to be legit here but I’m a bit confused. How can I get enough money for a laptop?

My mom is starting a business at home, and she will be using the computer 24/7, so I need a laptop. What can I do to get enough money for one? I don’t wanna babysit or do any yard work. I can also ask someone for some money and I can pay them back in feburary, but who should I ask? none or my family members can afford, or they won’t give me any money for it. Please help!!!!

P.S. I’m only 13, so I can’t get a job or anything yet.

What computer requirements should i look for for videography/photography business?

I need to buy a new desktop to have in my office so i can start my business. I am going into wedding/etc videography/photography business. I love to edit and shoot so i already know how to do everything. (so dont tell me that i do not know what i am saying and i am giving you "people" bad names asking this).

I know a computer needs a high performance, speed, quality, a lot of gb of harddrive, and more. I have the software i need but want to order a good computer that will do the job just right.

What are some requirements my computer should have to perform well and fast? And please be specific and in detail. Thank you
if i go with a mac, will adobe premiere pro and photoshop work on it?

I want to start my own computer buy, fix and then sell sort of business. How do I do this?

My neighbour makes a living by buying various faulty electrical goods (kitchen appliances, computers, mp3 players, etc …) fixes them and then sells them at second hand/junk shops ,or even at car boot sales. He makes quite a lot of money and I’ve always been interested in general computer/laptop logistics and how it all works, so for me a job buying old/broken/faulty computers and laptops, fixing them, adding on more hardware, even upgrading them, then selling them on would be perfect. But a the moment it’s just an idea, and I wouldn’t have a clue where to start! So if anyone knows what would be the best courses to enroll on? Or just general information on where to start and what i’de need to do, would be a great help.

Computer business plan???

Im 18 years old now in 11th grade. If you read my other question, my family i live with have hard time with money. My brother never finished 10th grade and he makes roughly 16-17k a year. My mom a little under 18k a year.
Iv never been good in school, Ds and Cs. So i know a good college which impresses people is out of the question haha. But i loveeee computers. I love building it, playing with it, taking it apart, figuring out new things. It just comes natural to me and i was thinking of going to community college to learn more about parts and technical pieces and what not. And my plan was to do a small home business . Buy low end computer, broken, or build, and probably sell it on sites like ebay. Now, I know id have to save to invest in parts or the computers, cause its basically repairing mostly im guessing. But my question is, how well do computers sell now a days? I know computers is a big thing now, but how do i know who needs computers or not? Cause i would only sell maybe 1-3 at a time cause id be a small thing and hopefully grow. Cause id have a job on the side while still living at home with mother. Basically fix the computer and resale to make 50-100+ profit and my saves would slowly build to where i can start selling more computers at a time. (laptops as well) Its not the best plan cause im still researching on how ebay fees work and whats the best way to go about the selling process or what why my plan is. Maybe mainly build computers from scratch.

What is the best quality desktop computer at a low cost?

I currently have been using Dell computers but it never fails that after a few years of usage, they either slow down (a lot!) or don’t work well. I have lost my Adobe reader and have been unsuccessfull at downloading it at every attempt. We have internet, but only dial up; there is only a 1% chance that my dad will ever upgrade to a faster internet service! Our disc drive also has locked up and will no longer open up to play a cd or load a program.
Did I mention that I don’t know a whole lot about computers… I just need one to run my Pampered Chef business effectively. If my current computer is hopless to repair, I will need a new RELIABLE computer to get the job done.
PLEASE HELP!!!!

What can of job can I get with an AS degree in Business Computer Applications?

I have taken classes in Desktop Publisher, FrontPage, Access, Word, QuickBooks Pro, PowerPoint, Visual Basic,Data Entry, plus 4 Accounting classes including Payroll. I just need some ideas because I would like to work in all areas that take creativity and imagination. I have also had 15 years of cashiering but due to surgeries I can no longer stand on my feet for that job.

What is the best laptop computer for someone 50+?

I am looking to buy a laptop for my mom, who is 58. She is familar with computers but not tech-savvy at all. Up until 2 years ago she worked on a Mac at her job. She doesn’t need/want anything fancy, nor something that costs an arm and a leg. I was thinking that someone who either was older and had recently bought a laptop or someone who was more knowledgable than I am.

I don’t want an Acer, Everex, EMachine or a Dell. AMD processors are alright, but I would prefer Intel.

What is better for small business desktop or laptop?

Our desktop is crashing (memory issue??) it’s time to buy a new one anyway. We have a business and use Quickbooks. Only one other computer (a laptop) is used with the business and it is not networked to the main computer in the office. It would be nice to network the two but not totally necessary Do we replace the tower, (our monitor-flat screen and keyboard are great)? What Dell tower would be best? OR Would a laptop do the job? What program is used to network two computers? So many options and so little knowledge? I appreciate any help?
