Need help on making an eBay business?

Im 13, but in the upcoming year I need £600 for a ski trip with my school and probably about £1000 for a decent laptop computer for essays etc (I need to do lot’s of research and I am also a gamer). I would be very interested in starting a eBay Buisiness, and as an ongoing project, not just for a one off. What to I do? I have some junk worth about £250, and that would be my investment.

I am not a gamer, and I don’t run any massive programs. I mostly just need it for work, writing reports and sending emails, but also a little web surfing, file sharing, you tube, ect. A good wireless card is a must.
I just want something good, that won’t be completely obsolete in a year.

I am looking for a new laptop that is under 0? I am not picky when it comes to the manufacturer. I just need something that is fast and is going to hold a good amount of music and movies. I have a decent laptop computer but my desktop is obsolete. I use the desktop for homeowner business, paying bills, letter writing, storing and processing photos. I am not a gamer and don’t need space on my desk. Am I dumb for still wanting a desktop computer in this age of wireless networks?

Looking at their website, it is hard to see what exactly determines the pricing. Why do they constantly differentiate between home and business laptops? What difference does the purpose of the computer make when you can go for different specs anyway? I want something for home use, to use MS office and the internet. I may want to download a few MPGs and some music, watch youtube etc, listen to the radio, burn dvds and cds, but nothing major. I am not a gamer. What would you say are the minimal specs I need for this? Apart from RAM, hard drive space, what other things would be useful to know? Thanks in advance
