My mum is going to buy another desktop computer, can you please suggest some good brands and models for about 00.
And where to buy them for the best price.

i have an old dell computer that i havent used in a couple of years, as i had a sony vaio laptop. now my laptop has broken, and mky old computer is as slow as hell.

so i’m thinking i’ll upgrade it.

I have a very basic background – i used to build computers, but that was back in the mid-late 90’s, so things have changed quite a bit!

i’m thinking that the minimum i need to upgrade is the RAM, processor, and hard drive. as far as i can see, 2GB RAM is the highest this machine can cope with. but if u replace the motherboard, can you then go for 4GB?

so basically i need to know:

do i need to upgrade the motherboard? if so, what will fit/be compatible?

what processor should i get (based on either my current motherboard, or the upgrade you suggest)

what RAM is compatible with my current system/how to upgrade so i can use more RAM

what hard drives are compatible/what should i look for (i’m thinking 1TB)

anything i’m missing?

i don’t really use the computer for games that much, so i don’t need a top of the range graphics card, but if there is a cheap upgrade i can get, i’ll get that too

I have a mac and it is more of a family computer that is used by everyone in the house and is really loaded up with information, so im looking to get a new desktop computer for me. i want a computer that is fast and has a lot of memory and storage space. im thinking any thing from 1000 dollars and down. what is the best make and the best computer that will have all these things?

I just need a reliable desktop computer to get through 3 more years of college and then I will get a very nice one (probably Apple) or build my own then b/c I’ll have more time to put it together & money. Right now I just need something i can use through college. Any suggestions, and WHY use that one?

I have searched other questions on here and come up with one Best Answer that directed me to the IRS website, but I am still unclear. I have a home-based Administrative, Secretarial and Computer Training business that I work on part-time, in addition to my full-time job. I applied for the Tax ID Number about 3 years ago, but haven’t done anything with the business until three or four months ago. I now have one client, who has paid me a total of 0 so far this year. I have four business accounts and have purchased some minor office supplies (stapler, paper, camera, paperclips, pens, etc.). I also purchased a new desktop computer with my business account. I have a room setup as an office in my home.

If don’t think I’ll make over 0 this year because I am still trying to figure out ways to advertise. If I don’t make a profit, do I have to pay taxes? I saw something about the IRS wanting you to make a profit within 3-5 years, but what if I don’t?
I really don’t plan on purchasing any other major office supplies until I get some more business. I recently got a tax form from the IRS saying I needed to file taxes, but on what? I made no income from the business, except in 2007 which is the 0 something dollars I mentioned earlier.

I understand that I can write off anything that is related and necessary for my business. I also understand that I should keep track of everything (gas mileage, etc.). Say for instance, if I have a business gas card and I use 0 for personal gas and 0 for business gas, do I just deduct the business gas?

What if I spend more money trying to advertise and get the business up and running, than I make? Let’s say I spend ,000 in 2008 but I only make 0. Does that mean I have a loss of ,500? I really can’t afford an Accountant so I am trying to figure this out on my own. I think I can get it if somebody can explain it to where I can understand it.

i am thinking of buying a new desktop computer. i have an older dell and a 3-4 yr old compaq. both perform well but i am thinking of updating to a newer one. just looking for some advice and input.

I am looking into purchasing a new desktop computer. I already have the monitor, mouse, keyboard & speakers. So i only need the tower. My limit is probably about 0. I need something with lots of memory, and pretty fast. This will be used mainly for business which involves a lot of pictures & movies & music. Nothing refurbished or used. Brand new. I would like to go into a store and purchase it, not just online. I like to see what I buy before I pay for it. Anyway…any suggestions?

We got a quote once from a business that offered a full home recording studio package that included a desktop computer and can’t remember where it was! Can you help?

I’m looking to buy a new desktop computer but i have a limited budget. Are there any good ones for 0 or below? i suppose if there are some a little over 0 i’ll consider them, but please try to suggest desktops below or equal to 0

I’d use it every day and do some light gaming on it from time to time
