I’m a student entering college, and am looking for the best possible laptop. I HAVE SEVERAL REQUIREMENTS HOWEVER!!!! I am an avid computer gamer so I prefer to have a laptop that plays flash and flash videos quickly and with minimal lag. I also use a loooot of memory, but am not tech savvy enough to install my own ramm thingamajiggers or whatchamacallits. Therefore, larger memory space is a huge plus.
I don’t really care about the price as long as it falls below or near 1,300-1,500, and deals with stuff included are appreciated.

Now: importantly: I DESPISE MACS. I have never had a good experience with a mac. They should just stick with making excelent mp3 players as far as I am concerned. I have had laptops made by most every company in my lifetime, and most have ended up dissapointing me. I currently have a HP and I love it so far prompting me to give bonus points for links to HP laptops.

So in summary: Lots of power, memory and fair pricing. Optional but appreciated are portability light weight and looks.

I WILL be watching frequently and will give best answer to the laptop I choose. Plead include links to sellers/websites/deals etc.

2. Actually, I have a mac desktop running that’s OS and I just don’t like it. Sorry, personal preference.

I considered a desktop, but I’ll be walking around slot so I’ll need a laptop. KEEP THE AANSWRRS COMIN!!!

No, I guess I want something that’ll load vieos and webpages fast. I have a Hp running 64 bit Visa and normally with 900+ tabs of Moz Firefox running simultaneously. No joke. You can imagine the EPIC lag. Any suggestions now?
Tech wizard, ur info on chisets was helpful, but. Am teh n00b when it comes to upgrading anything or overclcking the whatever the fs. Im looking for something fast and I mean FAST right out of the box. Kinda tempted to customize my own on HPs website now though….

I have been searching for sometime now for the best gaming computer on the market. I have looked at Compaq, HP, Gateway, Dell, and Alienware. I felt Alienware was probably the most expenisve, and Gateway had the best deal, but i’m not sure which one would be a better gaming computer. Anybody have any idea with these companies or can suggest the best place to get this style computer. Or is there anywhere else there are good, strong gaming computers? I want the best graphics and most memory, plus best processor. Also if you could tell me what the current best processors and video cards on the market are now I would be grateful. It’s been ages sinced I computer shopped and i’m way out of the loop now (you know how fast the business changes). Thanks for all the help for anyone who answers!! One final note, I want a desktop, not a notebook computer.

Student, first year at college, wanting to know which would be the best laptop to buy and what computer software should I look for. I do not know which kind of Dell if a Dell is better or even a Sony or Lenova(IBM) any ideas?

I have about 00 – 1500 to spend on a desktop and the best value I’ve found so far is Dell.

I want one for personal use that I can do basic things, like check e-mail, surf, etc. Is there a brand that’s supposed to be better than most? Also, what processor speed and all that stuff should I look for?
It will be for travel occ but mostly @ home. A lot of people have told me a Gateway is no good! My desktop Dell works fine, no problems so far. It’s hard to know which is best, so many choices.

I will probably be purchasing another small computer. I have a HP WIN/7 laptop that is about 9 months old. I also have a larger Acer WIN/Vista laptop which is very heavy to carry around. I don’t like carrying around the Acer because last June the laptop fell on my foot and broke it! I also have a Gateway WIN/2000 OS which is a very good desktop computer for business use.

I had a small Dell netbook that I returned to the store about 2 months ago. It kept on crashing and I finally had enough and returned it. I like the smaller laptops that are light. I can’t afford a Apple computer but I know that they are by far the best computer out there. I have also been considering buying an Apple IPad just for browsing the web. I suffered a bad knee sprain this past month so I’m kind of laid up right now.

I have been doing family tax returns and earned money doing it. I thought I take the little bit of extra money that I earned and get a good little netbook or IPad.

I’m looking at various companies that produce computer desktops in search for a new PC. I usually do business with Dell, but I’m looking for some alternatives. I’m looking for a pretty standard media/entertainment PC, nothing too expensive. I’m thinking about getting something from HP, but am still open to recommendations. What companies have you had the most positive experience buying and using a PC from?
