I’m looking for a laptop to replace my iPad. I was looking at Macbooks, but they’re far out of my price range. I would like one for 0 or less (preferably less). I need one that’s fast and doesn’t have the tendency to overheat. Need a lot of battery life, of course. I will be using it mostly for photo editing. I will also use it for video editing and music stuff like iTunes and such. What is the best brand and model at a fairly cheap price? Dell, HP, Toshiba?

I have a Dell account, and was thinking about buying a laptop for my husband. He is going back to school (and I am working on my Master’s online), and I want to get him one so we are not constantly fighting over usage of the computer. I don’t want to spend as much as I did on my desktop 00 three years ago (not including adding memory, general maintenance, and an upgrade to Windows 7). AT THE MINIMUM, what do I need to look at when purchasing him one. The primary functions is for school and not gaming, though watching movies on it would be a bonus. I am already planning on buying a wireless printer since mine will be more costly to replace than to buy new. He MAY be going to school for computers (networking)…so if this requires a computer with more bells and whistles, any advice on that would also be helpful. We will use this, and I never regretted spending the amount of money we did on our desktop. I am looking for value over dollars spent. Thank you.

Which one would you recommend most? DELL, HP/COMPAQ,ACER,GATEWAY? ETC…?

Out of Dell, Hp, Sony, Gateway, Toshiba, Asus, etc… what is the best brand of pc for everyday laptop use?

I am considering a basic laptop from Dell refurbished.
I use my computer for a part time business and the rest of the time listen to music, surf the web, etc. BTW, I don’t do gaming.
Processors are the big question for me .
I know P4 is premium, but can I do alright with an AMD based on my usage info?
Need all opinions good and bad on processors for light business and no gaming. Thanks!

i found a desktop on dell under small business that i like. it is 2.2ghz intel core2duo, 2gb ram, 1000gb hdd, ati radeon 2600XT HD graphics and it runs on windows vista home premium.. (no monitor but i alredy have a monitor at home) and it costs £294.00.
q1.is this computer any good?
q2. will any monitor be compatible with it?
q3. what diference will it make with me buying it in the small business section rather than the home section?

I live in Australia and ordered a Dell Studio Desktop (customized) with 24" monitor on the 3rd of march and the online order status says it isn’t going to be delivered until the 24th of March. That is like 16 business working days or about 3 weeks. WTF??

Why can’t Dell make the Indians’ and Malaysians’ or whoever they are work on weekends so I can have my computer faster. Why do I have to wait so long?

I have found that, only hp,toshiba, sony, and emachines are the
only computer company’s that have there products in stores.
Besides DELL and those kiosks at the malls, I haven’t found a
store yet that you could walk into and buy an IBM which is what
I really want. COULD ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE? I have an
HP desktop that I bought last year just cause of the lightscribe
technology I thought it was cool, but I fell for it when I
should ve waited. I really don’t like hp because my friend also
has one and both ours work poorly,freezing, not playing quality video, stopping and loading in the middle of surfing the net,etc.

to buy, I’m looking for good video,burning cd’s, I have a small internet business in the works so a good business orientated
computer won’t hurt either, and I am looking to spend between

I need a laptop computer to surf the web and you tube and a good battery life, used would be fine. I think i would like a hp or a dell, because i have had good luck with them in the past. but i need to know the basics like how much ram i need and memory and stuff.

I have a Sony Vaio laptop, and desktop computer. However, it’s going on 3 years and my desktop is about to die. I’ve heard they only make desktop computers to last about 3 years. So i’m just wondering is there a brand someone would recommend? Dell, another Vaio. I would be interested in purchasing a MAC..but my mother will be using it and I don’t know if she’ll be able to make the transition from PC to MAC.
