If I am a student, can I purchase a small business dell laptop even though I do not own a small business?

I tried to purchase a laptop from small business but you need your company’s name. I do not have a company so I do not know how can I buy the laptop from dell. I want the laptop from dell or does anyone else know where I can purchase a XP computer from a store instead of getting vista?

You can’t buy it because you are not a small business.

Find out if your university offers discounted computers or programs – many do. I was able to buy the entire Microsoft Office for only $14.

Yes you can. Either put your own name in as the company or give them a call. Dell will never turn away money. Also, most systems are still shipped with XP. You will received a Vista "upgrade" in the mail.

buy a cheaper computer. or get an older rebuilt one is probably your best bet……

Please don’t get a dell laptop you will regret it, trust me. Their horrible computers. Get any other brand, but dell.

As far as xp, goes it is unlikely you will find a computer with it on it. As long as you buy a new computer with plenty of memory, you shouldn’t have too many problems with vista, its when you upgrade your current computer, is where people have been running into a lot of problems.
