I am in the market to buy a new desktop computer and I was wondering what is the best processor?
I believe an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor is the best, but how does an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core compare? This computer will be used for both a small business and personal, including gaming.
AMD should be fine. Core 2 duo is just much easier to overclock, which you don’t need to do.
You are right the intel is best , my choice would be the intel..
I am waiting for the AMD quad core myself.

Alright this question is getting asked all the time now..
AMD’s Quad core will be coming out in a little while, however many people say that the intel Core 2 Duo Extreme Quad Core is not really Quad Core, however it is if you were to really take it apart (you cant but you know lol) you would see it is and AMD’s Quad core will be just the same when it comes out.
So it comes down to Name Brand man or willing to trust AMD as Intel seems to be the Brand Name of Proccessors.
it’s all a bit like the ford / chev debate thing , they’re pretty much the same (although intel didn’t do well in the latest benchmark tests). i have always prefered amd
well the amd athlon 64 x2 dual core is fast,but the dual core processor is one of the best processors now.it is 70% faster than any other processor.
