how do I log on to a password protected windows 2000 business computer if i've forgotten my password?
it is a dell latitude laptop, I used to be able to log on without a password, but I changed some settings by mistake and now it tells me ‘The local policy of this system does not permit you to log on interactively’
starting it in safe mode results in the same problem. I think maybe because it is an ex-shool computer

I think you have to make a windows password reset disk with "windows login recovery". Burn a boot CD with the program, and insert it into the problem computer and your password will be reset to “Blank”
With Win 200 you should be able to do it through safe mode. This is how to use safe mode.
